If you have ever heard the comment, “Email is dead”, I’m here to tell you that the only thing dead is that statement. Email is crucial if you want to grow your business.

Here are 3 Reasons why you need to start building that email database or at least use the one you already have.

 It’s better to own than to rent. 

Most people believe that because they are on social media and have a following, there’s nothing more they need to do. If that’s you, let me ask you this: What would happen if the platform that is working the best for you right now went away?  Would your fans know how to find you? Even better, could you find every single one of those fans?

I have yet to meet anyone who has answered yes. If you can, then you’re probably not reaching enough people right now.

Social Media can disappear or change the rules (as they do way too often) at any given time. YOU don’t control it. You do, however, have control over your email list and who you reach.

It’s much more personal!

They signed up for your email because they wanted to learn more about you. Now is the time to nurture that relationship and to bring them value. You got them passed the brand awareness phase and now they are saying, “Hey! I like you, I trust you and I want to know more!”  This is the prime opportunity to speak to them, individually! I’m not talking about sending emails one by one, I’m mean that know you can write as if they are the only one reading it. Nurture this relationship and allow them to like you more, trust you more and know you more!

Your list is one of the top tools for running ads.

Did you know that you can run a Facebook ad and upload your email list? It’s true! You don’t want to spend your hard-earned ads dollars marketing towards people that don’t already know you. (Well, you will if you’re just running a campaign for brand awareness) This group is ready to convert so use this list to market to them. Bonus: Create a lookalike audience to create a separate campaign for. It’s a solid tool and one that is pretty valuable. (This is also why it’s SO important NOT to buy email lists. If a company is trying to convince you to do that…run! Quality over quantity…always!) 

Email is one of the longest-running platforms out there and it’s not going away anytime soon. Besides the three reasons I mentioned above, the fourth and BEST reason for most business owners is that it’s ROI (return on investment) is strong! For every $1 you spend, the return on average is $42. I can attest that my ROI has been strong and consistent as well!

Email is a tool that you don’t want to ignore. If you haven’t really been putting much time into it, here’s your sign to start doing so. It’s powerful, inexpensive and when all the systems are put in place, it will save you a lot of time and energy!
